This caddy provides a storage solution that helps keep pressure off the robot’s scrubbing brushes when the robot is not in use. This allows the brushes to maintain their form, contributing to a longer life cycle of those components. When your robot has completed its cleaning cycle, go ahead and take it out of the water to store on your  Dolphin Caddy. Keep it away from constant and direct sunlight, excessive heat, and severe cold. It is also recommended to store the caddy in a location that is covered to help prevent excessive wear. When you’re wrapping the cable, carefully make sure there are no kinks and store it on your Dolphin Caddy.

What is the Best Way to Use the Power Supply Unit on the Dolphin Caddy?

When your robot is operating, make sure that the power supply is secured on the caddy and the caddy is at least 12 feet away from the edge of the pool so it doesn’t accidentally get pulled in. When the robot is plugged in, always be sure to use an electrical outlet that is protected with a ground fault interrupter (GFI) device. This will shield your robot from surges in power.

Is it safe to leave the robot’s power supply safe and secure on the Dolphin Pool Caddy? Can the power supply be outside at all times? These are great questions to ask. The Power Supply Unit is an electrical device which is water resistant but not waterproof. To make a long story short, it must be protected from the elements. Never at any time, allow your power supply unit into the pool or to be exposed to water for any extended period of time.

What are Best Practices to Properly Store, Roll, and Operate the Cable?

The  Universal Caddy is power cable management made easy. It provides a way to keep your cleaner’s cable organized and out of the way. It’s compatible with all residential Dolphin robotic pool cleaners. Completely remove the cable from the Dolphin Caddy when the robot is in use. Make sure to release enough of the cable into the pool so that your robot can properly function, and any extra can be rolled loosely outside of the pool. When storing your robot, make sure the cable doesn’t have any kinks as you place it around the top of the caddy. As a tip, something that is good to do is once every week or so, unplug the cable from the power supply and unwind the tangled portions of cable. Straighten it out and leave it in a place that’s exposed to the sun. Do this for a few hours and it will help remove troublesome kinks or tangles.
